As part of the world tour, we adhere to the World Athletics – Athletics for a Better World standard. Our goal is to protect the unique environment of the spa park and inspire the entire athletic community toward responsible behavior.
Traveling to the Races
A significant part of our sustainability efforts stems from the very nature of Poděbrady, where everything important is within arm's reach.
• By Train to the Start: The railway station is just a few minutes' walk from the starting line. We encourage fans to use train services. Fewer cars in the center mean cleaner air for both athletes and spa guests.
• Everything Within Walking Distance: Thanks to our cooperation with Lázně Poděbrady, athletes are accommodated directly next to the track, completely eliminating the need for local car transport.
Supporting the Region
For us, sustainability also means supporting the local economy and craftsmanship. Why transport goods from afar when the best is available right here in the region?
• Drinking Local Mineral Water: Hydration is provided by Poděbradka. By using this local natural source, we significantly reduce the transport kilometers associated with bottled water.
• A Piece of Glassmaking History: Winners receive crystal trophies from the local Crystal Bohemia glassworks, representing authentic craftsmanship and lasting value.
Inclusion and Community
We believe that sport has the power to break down barriers. Our meeting is open to everyone without exception. We place great emphasis on the accessibility of the venue and the active involvement of the youngest generation.
• Movement Without Barriers: The spa park offers flat and accessible terrain for spectators with limited mobility as well as families with strollers.
• Athletics for Kids: The supporting program includes the Athletics for Kids project, which playfully motivates children toward a healthy lifestyle and shows that sport is for everyone.
Clean Air and Health
Air quality is absolutely vital for endurance disciplines. In a spa town, clean air is the standard we want to protect. During the event, we monitor conditions and provide information about them.
• Current Air Quality: Follow online air quality data for the region on the portal of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI).
Fairness and a Safe Environment
We want our sport to be clean and for everyone to feel safe. We view this as a fundamental part of a responsible event.
• Safeguarding: Any inappropriate behavior can be reported through the Czech Athletics Federation Safeguarding pages.
• Ethics and Clean Sport: We support total transparency. Suspicions of rule violations can also be reported via the international mechanisms of WADA (Speak Up) or the AIU (Integrity Line).
